March 26, 2013

Our sweet girl turns 17 months today.  It's cliche to say that she has grown so quickly but she really has.  When Ane was first born EVERYONE who had children would always tell us "Enjoy it, they grow fast!"  They were exactly right, Ane has grown so quickly, right before our eyes.

The daily happenings of Anelia:
  • She loves to dance, when we say "Go Ane, Go Ane!"  She nods her head, sways back and forth, bends her knees and bounces, all at the same time.  She has some pretty sweet moves and for a 17 month old I'd say she has rhythm.  I don't know where she gained these amazing dancing skills because her father & I are the farthest thing from cordinated lol.
  • She says a number of words but she is slowly starting to become an echo and repeat things after those around her.  We have always tried to be good examples for her and now we know we HAVE to watch what we say around her.  She's like a sponge absorbing everything said and done around her.
  • She has always been a speedy little walker since she could walk but now she's at the point where she's realizing she can run pretty fast and has been experimenting with her speed.  Last night while running from me, she tried to lift her little legs a little higher and she was running/galloping.  Probably the most hilarious thing every.  Go speed racer!
  • She is shy when she first meets someone or when she hasn't seen someone for awhile.  She shyly smiles and turns away, it's the cutest thing ever.
  • Her scream has hit a new level of loud, I scared her yesterday (playful scare, of course) and she screamed so loud, she sounded like a legitimate grown lady.  Easy tiger.
  • She's become a very picky eater and if she doesn't like something she'll refuse to eat until she gets a taste of something she likes.  She's never been a fan of veggies and will only try a select few of fruits.  I want to start making her green smoothies to ensure she's getting all of the nutrients she needs.  Her favorite foods now days are macaroni and cheese, fries, and chicken nuggets, such healthy food choices huh?
  • She's very tall and slim but it is in her genes so go figure.  I have a feeling she's going to be taller than me.  I'm 6ft, I didn't always enjoy being tall but I hope to show Ane that being tall is awesome and she should rock it to it's fullest!
I could literally go on and on about all the amazing things she does.  Things that she does may seem normal to any other person but when you've watched someone grow from a newborn to a toddler you realize how incredible these little blessings are and what they're capable of.  Ane takes on challenges and tries and tries until she completes it.  For example, the other night she climbed on our bed on her own.  That's a big task to conquer considering our bed is the same height as she and even after struggling for some time she made it.  I was in complete awe.

As she has grown my love for her multiplies.  She has her dad & I around her little finger.  I can't put into words my love for her but it's an empowering feeling to love someone so little so very much.

Happy 17 months my darling, you are the best thing to ever happen to us and we thank our Father in Heaven for granting us with the most amazing blessing, which is YOU.

March 22, 2013

It's technically the 23rd but I'm up late & can't sleep.  Sage & I both had work off today so we went to lunch at BJ's with Ane & it was absolutely delish.  I think that may be my new favorite place now that I found something on their menu I like.

We also spent majority of our evening at the park today with close friends & Sage's siblings & had a small but fun potluck.  Ane loves the park & I'm having a had time keeping up with her nowadays.  She's a speedy little runner & travels quickly.  It feels like just within the last month she has grown not only in height but she is not a baby at all anymore. She runs, she dances, she repeats things I say & although what she says doesn't sound like words she is trying to talk.  I have very mixed emotions when it comes to her growing up.

Sage & I played basketball against each other while at the park & I would like to proudly announce that I won fair & square.  The score was 11 - 8.  Whoop, whoop!  I love playing ball at the park with everyone.  It makes me realize that I should have really tried when I played in high school.  I was always intimidated & I played scared.  How annoying lol.  Well, ya live & ya learn.

We bought Ane the cutest pink Nike basketball today, she loves it.  I hope she learns to love basketball, I'd love to see her play when she's older & to have that in common with her.  She's already extremely tall so I know she's going to be tall just like me.  Whatever she chooses to do in school, we'll support her.  I was telling my sister in laws yesterday that I want her to be involved in school sports or something all year long so that she stays busy & keeps out of trouble.  While we were at the park there were so many teenagers just hanging out & that were up to no good, I pray that I raise my babies well & that they'll have drive & won't waste their time doing things that don't better themselves.  It's funny how when you become a parent you realize how scary of a place the world is.

I'm up so late because I stayed up watching Les Miserables with my sister in law, Tawny.  That movie is seriously so amazing.  I love musicals but I wish I could sing after watching them.  I can't sing very well... Not at all. Boo.

5 days until my sweetheart turns 22!  Yes, indeed, my husband is much younger than me but I like it because he keeps me young ;). I'm so very grateful for Sage & though, I may be much for him to handle he shows me he loves me & keeps me happy.  I love him.

K enough gushy stuff, this post has been slightly random but that's all for today's events.

March 20, 2013

Today is my Friday & I'm extremely thrilled about that.  My current work schedule is Sunday through Wednesday, I love that I have 3 day weekends.  The extra day spent with Ane always makes such a difference compared to when I only had 2 day weekends.

Sage has the day off today which is definitely nice considering his schedule will be changing & we won't be seeing each other much.  He has an interview tomorrow & we are very hopeful that he gets this new job.  It's in the Lord's hands but we hope that he will provide Sage with this opportunity because it will help us out tremendously when it comes to us purchasing a home this year, which is our ultimate goal for 2013.

Tonight we went to dinner with my lovely in laws, love them.  They have & continue to help us out so much!  Anelia is blessed to have such amazing grandparents, including my parents as well.  We also went to good old Target & got Ane summer clothes. I love shopping for her!  If only Sage was just as enthusiastic ;)

I'm currently sitting up looking at flights to Salt Lake in May & September.  I'm pretty excited!  In May my best friend, Mariah is turning 22 & my other best friend, Whitney is graduating from college.  In September, my other best friend, Stacy is getting married.  Our group of friends are all in completely different areas of our lives & it's so exciting seeing us all experience such different walks of life.

It's almost midnight & our little monkey is currently wide awake & climbing all over her daddy who is attempting to sleep.  It's time for me to intervene.

March 17, 2013

It's half past midnight & here I am, wide awake creating a new blog.  I've always been quite horrible at blogging but I'm going to take a whack at it & start fresh.  Here we go, keep your fingers & toes crossed that I complete what I set out to do.

I felt the need to start a new blog while laying in bed with my sweet Anelia tonight.  My husband, Sage, currently works the grave shift so I put Ane (that's what we call her for short) to sleep every night.  Any mother knows that bedtime is not an easy task BUT tonight, Ane went to sleep easily. No fussing, no fits, no head butting... This is pretty unheard of honestly.  She laid next to me, cuddled with me & out of nowhere she begin to grace my arm, from my shoulder to my elbow, back & forth.  I do this every night to her, on her back to soothe her to sleep but tonight, my little baby (technically a toddler but I'm still having a hard time facing that.) was trying to soothe me.  Right there.  In that brief moment, I thought... "My baby is no longer a baby, she's growing quickly & she's going to bed without a fuss?!" I then thought to myself about all that she's done just in the 16 months that she's been apart of our lives & how I have done a very poor job in keeping record.  ALTHOUGH, I am an avid picture taker & do post quite a few pictures of Ane almost daily on my Instagram.

She's growing & I have nothing to look back on but pictures with short captions.  My goal with this blog is not post long, extravagant blogs but just simple recaps of our day. The things we did, big or small.  I know I won't do this daily but I have set a reminder in my calendar EVERY night at 9pm to remind me, maybe that'll help?  Hopefully.

So, here we go...

March 17, 2013

Today is technically Anelia's 2nd St. Patty's Day.  I'm not really into this holiday but when Ane grows to understand, I want to view this holiday as a day to recognize how "lucky" we are to have everything we do.  Anyways, Ane didn't wear anything festive, no cute green shirt or fancy leprechaun hat.  I what to work today & when I asked Sage if Ane was wearing any green he replied, "Yes, on her diaper." Touché Hun, touché.  Our day wasn't eventful but I did get Ane to give me 3 kisses!  She doesn't give them out too much, which we'll probably like that she's so stingy with her kisses she's a teen ;) BUT today, she gave me 3 wonderful kisses & I appreciated each one very much.

Well, that's all for my first blog of our new blog :)
