Indeed it is. Getting ready for Christmas this year has been an amazing experience. We've had a lot of "first time" fun this year. Our first time decorating our home, first time purchasing a tree, etc. I'm sure many people would agree that the Holidays lose their "magic" as you get older. Well, I'm happy to say that the "magic" returns with a vengence after you have kids. I look forward to making this time of year special for our princess.
This week I'm hoping to complete all of Anelia's Christmas shopping and then move on to our family member's. I'm always such a last minute shopper and I blame Sage for this. I tried to start shopping in October but he thought I was mad. Therefore, I have put it off until now.
Setting up our Christmas tree this year has been the highlight of this month so far. Anelia's expression when she first saw it was PRICELESS! She woke up from her nap, walked out of her room and saw the tree all lit up and she said "Wow! Coooool!" It was better than I had hoped for.
As I finished putting the tree up and turning on the lights her excitement grew. She loves the tree, we got unbreakable ornaments so she's been taking a few off and throwing them around. I've had to move alot of the decor to the top of the tree where she can't reach it. Regardless of her being pretty reckless with the tree, I'll probably end up leaving it up far passed an acceptable date. I've just loved having it up and can't imagine taking it down.
The baby waiting game has been challenging to say the least. It's been 3 months of "trying" and I'm learning the true meaning of patience. This whole experience has definitely made me admire the women who have been trying to have a baby for many months and years.
It's been a long 3 months and with every little newborn I see makes the wait all the more challenging. In due time but until then I look forward to when the Lord feels we are ready.
On a brighter note, Christmas is getting closer and closer and I'm truly excited. Sage will be working on that day sadly but we'll make the most of it all.
