"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6

I think anyone can agree that we all have our bad days.  I have had my fair share of them and when dealing with a bad day or a trial I often gripe and complain about how "terrible" things are.  Last night I laid in bed wide awake with an extremely heavy heart.  I thought how something so tragic has opened my eyes and made me truly thankful for the good and bad days...  Even on my worst days- someone out there has it far worse.

My cousin Sehe has been like my sister for as long as I can remember.  We spent our days as kids at our grandma's house bossing all of our other cousins around.  She has always been my sidekick from day one and has always had my back and vice versa.  We played basketball together since the age of eight and I can distinctly remember her standing up for me on and off the court on many occasions.  We have had our fair share of rebellious adventures as teens.  One of which included her driving a minivan without a license, throwing cookies on my crush's lawn and driving up a curb while dodging a tree... We've shared amazing times & we will continue to do so!

Sehe and her husband just recently found out that they are expecting another child.  Their daughter Fae Leka is three and as you can imagine, their family was excited for their new addition and for her to become an older sister.

However, with this amazing news came absolutely horrible news...

Sehe has been diagnosed with breast cancer.

Could you imagine finding out that you're expecting another beautiful gift from God then shortly after discover that your baby isn't likely to make it because you have a battle to fight to keep yourself alive?

I can not even fathom the hurt and pain that she's currently dealing with.  Just a few months ago her father passed away.  As if losing her father wasn't enough, she now has this battle to fight.  It's tough to trust in the Lord when you've been faced with such trying hardships.  However, God always has a plan and we must always trust in Him.  Life isn't always easy or fair but everything happens for a reason and I have faith that Sehe will not only defeat this battle with cancer but she'll come out an even stronger person!

Sehe is just a few months younger than myself and has always been someone that I admire.  She's always been hard working and driven.  She always puts her loved ones far before herself and is the most unselfish person.  Most of all, Sehe is a fighter and I know that she will fight this battle with all she has for herself, her family, and most importantly for her daughter Fae.

May Sehe's battle be a reminder for us all to live each day with a positive outlook and humble heart.  Be thankful for your good health and the good health of your loved ones.  My heart goes out to those who are currently battling cancer and those who have lost their battle.

If you've taken the time to read this blog I'm asking that you please take the time to include Sehe and her family in your prayers.  They're much appreciated and most definitely needed.

xo,
Ang
